I have spent the past 17 years working as a Registered Nurse, a role that has allowed me to care for patients during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. Throughout my nursing career, I developed a deep appreciation for the connection between physical health and mental well-being. Many of the patients I encountered were struggling not only with medical conditions but also with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges that significantly affected their overall health.
These experiences inspired me to further my education and transition into the field of psychiatry. I pursued and completed a Master’s degree with a specialization in psychiatric mental health, where I focused on developing advanced clinical skills in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. My goal has always been to provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care while recognizing the whole person behind the symptoms.

I became a mental health provider because I have always been drawn to understanding people beyond what is visible on the surface. Over time, I came to recognize how often emotional pain, trauma, and unmet needs shape behavior that others may misunderstand or judge. This realization shaped my commitment to providing care that is not only clinically sound, but also deeply compassionate and human.
In my work, I strive to create a space where individuals feel safe enough to be honest about their struggles, fears, and vulnerabilities. Many of the people I serve arrive feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or unsure whether change is possible. I view my role as helping them organize what feels chaotic, build insight into their experiences, and develop practical skills that restore a sense of agency in their lives. Whether someone is coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, or major life transitions, I approach each person with curiosity rather than assumption and respect rather than judgment.
My clinical perspective recognizes that mental health is shaped by biological, psychological, and social factors. Symptoms do not occur in isolation; they are influenced by personal history, relationships, environment, and physical health. Because of this, I value integrative care — combining psychotherapy, psychoeducation, behavioral strategies, and when appropriate, medication — while also encouraging patients to engage in supportive relationships and healthy routines that sustain long-term wellbeing.
I am particularly attentive to individuals who feel marginalized, misunderstood, or hesitant about treatment. Many patients have had prior negative experiences with healthcare or carry stigma about mental health care. I believe trust is earned through consistency, transparency, and genuine presence. Even small moments of validation — feeling heard, believed, or understood — can be profoundly therapeutic and often mark the beginning of recovery.
Being a mental health provider also requires humility. I do not see myself as someone who “fixes” people; rather, I collaborate with them as they rediscover strengths that were often obscured by distress. Witnessing patients regain hope, stability, and self-confidence is one of the most meaningful aspects of my profession.
